I'd say he probably should have worded that differently... Major ooops for him. To me at least it appears that he is implying that "beauty-disadvantaged women" have lower standards when it comes to who they will date/marry/etc, which is why they should move to Mount Isa where the men to women ratio is 5:1. Obviously that is a pretty bold statement to make and one that simply is unfair.

He should have just said "We need women to move here" and left it at that.
