But this all depends on one thing - is time linear? Does it continue on in a single path, or are there multiple dimensions where time branches off, where instead of deciding to post in this thread, you did something else?

If multiple timelines do exist, then changing the future will not create a paradox - there will be a timeline where you do try to change the future, and another where you don't. But this brings up another question - which timeline will we be looking into?
