The judicial system fails all the time. How is it parents can neglect, beat, and molest children but yet keep their children, even when CPS has been called? How can the foster care system loose children in the system? How is it there are innocent men and women in prison and guilty on the streets? How is it we arrest and convict a crack pusher and let a robber and rapist out to make room for the drug dealer?
I can tell you why, the system is imperfect, the system fails because people fail. Its true often the system does work, but not always which is why stories like this are scary, because it can and does happen.

Unless you have a map of this guys complete thought process, and intentions, I don't think that you have any say toward what his punishment it. The media does a great job of throwing things out of proportion, and being very partial.
Unless mapping his thought process and intent brings us to mental defect or insanity, then in a straight up rape and murder trail all you need are the particulars. Girl is raped and dead, this guy did it. His thought process doesn't really play into it and shouldn't play into his sentencing unless

1. He immediately turned himself in and showed remorse, maybe and thats a big maybe we can talk about some degree of leniency.

2. Insanity or Mental Defect, in which case he should be in a mental institution.

whos to say that this isnt a result of the environment he lived in the last half of his life?
Well thats what prison therapy is for, I don't think we should be lenient because he had a rough childhood.
Believe me I'm all for rehabilitation and programs that help prisoners find what triggered their behavior and correct it, but that shouldn't get a rapist/murderer out early, just because his uncle bad touched him.
Rough childhoods happen to alot of people, statistically a fair sized group of the members of this board have been raped and beaten as children, but most of us aren't rapists and killers.

I just dont think that you have all the variables and the right to claim anything against the USA judicial system or this guys life untill you know all the facts.
True we don't have all the facts, but a double rapist was let out prison and killed someone. From what we know about the American prison system its safe to say prison overcrowding might have played a part in his parole.

If you dont like the way our judicial system is run, then why not create a revolution and FIX it? To lazy?
Or you can write to politicians and vote like a good citizen. You could also protest and petition. Also big talk coming from someone who can't vote. Revolution isn't the answer to effecting change, being politically aware and active is. If you don't like it vote for representatives that have ideas for fixing our justice system.
