Really? Oh man I live right in between two counties (fresno county and madera county) both have fairs right around the same time. The Madera fair is slightly smaller, I've only been to it once but it usually goes on in September. Then the Fresno fair is the bigger one that I've been to every year for probably the last 7-10 years, it happens early October.

I've also been to a fair that was in Sacremento once, I dunno if it was the state fair or not but it was pretty big and I didnt like it. I enjoy the feel of the smaller more Podunk Hillbilly fairs like from where I'm from.
