HUGE problems!!!!

I have a vonage router (Motorola VT2442) and im trying to download zip files and setup files that i once had (i just recently formatted my computer because of a virus)......

Whenever I download a zip file or a setup file, about 90% of the time its corrupt.....Is it possible that the virus I had on my computer went to my router or modem?

All I know is how to spell 'computers' bro, but the same thing did happen to a friend of mine. It's possible that it's possible. Sorry can't be of more help.

my question would be where are you getting it from and it is legal?

test out a totally free legal copy of something and see if it still does it

these are programs i have but downloaded the setup files from another connection (friends house)....when i downloaded them from my connection it says "corrupted file, please redownload..." or some form of that.

i tried gettin those programs from Free Software Downloads and Reviews - Download.com from my computer and it didnt work, but at my friends house it works fine.

No viruses or corrupted files can affect your modem.

Only thing that comes to mind is a flawed zip program is failing to decompress the file and you can't install it. Or your reformatted system is missing an exe. file necessary for your OS to recognize the file keeping you from installing.

Othar than that I have no idea what it could be. If you can't download anything at all and you know it's not a firewall issue or something simple I would recommend swiping your system clean and starting from scratch.

Hmm that's a weird problem, I'd try downloading the files and extracting them if you haven't already.

if you got the files off of your friends computer than that's also no good most zip files are good for the computer that they were originally downloaded to.
