A dedicated server is your server, you are the only one using it, meaning that there is only one account that has access to the server. (making your websites the only ones that the server runs)

In a normal server several people might be using the same one under different accounts, obviously this is cheaper but it's likely going to be a lot slower.

I'm assuming that since you put it in tech that's what you wanted.

A normal server is also often referred to as a shared server. Y'know, since it's being shared and all.
