The Internet search engine Lycos has announced its annual list of the year's most popular search terms. Searches for Naruto placed seventh on the list, and searches for Pokémon placed ninth. This is the first time that Naruto has made the year-end Top 10, although it has frequently appeared on the weekly lists on Lycos. Pokémon, on the other hand, was also present in the 2006 annual Top 10, as the sixth-most-popular search, while in 2005, it was eighth, joined by Dragon Ball in the number five spot.

In addition, Naruto and Pokémon are the second and third most popular toy or game that Lycos users have searched for this holiday season. Naruto is the fourth most popular search term in 2007 on Yahoo!, one of the online search competitors to Lycos.

I posted about this a few weeks ago so this is an update, sorta.

Wow. Naruto has come a long way hasn't it?

I remember back when my friend would watch the Anime. I would sit and wonder WHY the hell he would do such a thing. Then I discovered the Manga on MSN and I haven't looked in any other direction.

Naruto, Sasuke, Neji, Hinata, Sakura, Chojii, Gaara and gang have become a beloved place in my heart. I love the fighting games just as much because it brings a new experience to fighting(like Dragon Ball Z, or I'll go as as to say Tekkan).

Keep it up people.

I'd have to say Gaara has to be my favorite. Before and after the removal of his Jinchurikii(sp). He is badass as ever. Go Gaara!!!!

Naruto is like the BIGGEST ninja anime sensation that 8 out of every 10 anime fans will know. I'm sure 98% of anime fans at least know what/who Naruto is.

Yeah, it's a huge Manga in Japan. Very popular. The story is very well laid out, but I just think the training is corny...

I see your still showing some love for Gaara, Seph. What about Shikamaru? He's a badass.



I'm glad to see Naruto doing so good. The show has come a long way. I like the TV show but the manga is even better(imo of course). Pokemon on the other hand has died down but seems to be going strong.

Shikamaruu is gangster. Smartest Ninja I know...

And yes, Gaara get's love from me no matter what. Orginal badass Chuunin!!!!

As per Pokemon. That GAMES are still awesome. The cartoon I show no love for. It's like Power Rangers. I loved them in the beginning, liked them when green and white ranger came in. Then they went all furturistic and w/e....gayness

Well the games/toys are still popular. The show I'm sure is popular with kids still(just like power rangers). It'll be like DBZ, the show will end but the games/toys will continue to sell well. Then again the show might go strong for another 4-5 years. Who knows.
