There's a difference between not being straight to the point, and having a story that requires 26+ episodes. |: And a lot of anime have very different styles of storytelling. Some anime are only a few minutes long in their entirety, some are six episodes long, and some take a few episodes just to cover five minutes of talking and yelling.
Also, story lines are
not supposed to always be straight to the point (They can be, but it neither makes them better or worse on that basis alone), sitcoms
are through. Family guy is a sitcom.
