I've learned....That life is like a roll of double;' 'toilet

Re: Another work in progress
Night, I can't believe you finished that in a day! It looks fantastic...now you have to name it! :)
Iggy's smoothing tutorial:
Smooth most of the lumps and bumps, before baking. Put the clay in the oven at a temp of 275, cook for 6-8 min open the oven door and let it cool. The clay is still very fragile, so handle carefully! Using an exacto knife scrape away any lumps. Then use a fine grit sandpaper and water to even everything out. Finish smoothing the clay with acetone and a paintbrush, but be careful, too much and it will cause spider cracks. You can wash the clay under tap water to remove any particles. Then rebake!
Once again Night......Great job!

Re: Another work in progress
Thank you..Here is another tip. Before you bake take a paint brush, or a stirring rod and gently roll the rod across..Acts like a smoothing rolling pin. Espectialy if you are doing curvy parts...Also keep tour eyes open at G-sales. Try to find pastery hollows (made from SS Stee) They work great for makeing all difrent sized hollows.. Good luck.. Now I got to make the real outfit for my little guy.

Re: Another work in progress
I have also found that for smaller pieces or 'attachments' to a larger piece that a spaghetti strand works very will for helping close and smooth seams :D

Sounds like your getting the hang of it. Actually for arms and legs, a coiled spaghetti strand works best when you're using an armature.
