to the OP: Great work! It reminds me of Six Feet Under character, Claire Fischer (Lauren Ambrose). She's an artist and she would tear pictures to create or superimpose on another picture (like a collage). She's also the one taking all the pictures. She's primarily a photographer but this work is a mix of sculpture and photography.

I hear you on that, it's the same way for me. If i'm not feeling it my pictures are affected big time. I like to draw, too, but only in black and white. This medium of magazines is the only way my color pictures are life-life in anyway.

Like graphic design? I tried that in college and enjoyed it, but I am a get dirty-hands on artist. Not to mention I was bad at it

Funny you should mention that! 6FU was my FAVORITE SHOW! When I saw what she did I actually wanted to try that with photographs but never got around to it, she inspired me to get back into it after a lull in creating. Off topic but that show had the best finale of any series ever!

I'm starting a new one shortly, actually for myself this time! When it's complete I will post it.
Thanks everyone for the nice responses!

It is my favorite too.
You must have really enjoyed all the art scenes and watching people create from different media. What other forms have you tried to experiment with?

I did, I enjoyed it alot, especially when Claire glued the ripped up photo's on the foam heads because it was neat to see something I did myself, with the 3D twist to it.
I haven't really done any other unconventional methods. Other then, hanging in my kitchen, is an abstract piece I did, I ripped up handmade paper, the kind you'd find in a paper store that has feathers, or textures inbedded into it. I ripped them up all different colors and sizes. I enjoyed that one, didn't have to be as precise!

Thanks! We had a project in art school. The teacher wanted up to replicate a photo of our chosing, using anything other then standard medium. No paint, pencils, chalks,. etc. Many people had cool ideas, using Koolaid for paint, someone used skittles and M&Ms. I was dirt poor in college and my roommate had a stack of old Cosmo magazines and I had some glue, so I figured I could find any color I needed in those. And the craft was born And like I said before, it was the only time anything I did in color looked have way decent. I cant paint for crap!

I can attest to this one. I have seen it in person and it was my favorite picture in her house. I love abstract.

You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never ever choose to be.

Very cool works flipflop. I use all sorts of stuff for my sculptures. I like to go to junk yards and collect stuff to weld together.
