My Mood:
you should do a test:

go on the highway or something and drive normally, time how long it takes to use 1/4 of a tank, then go back to where you started and use cruise, it might be expensive but no pain no gain

Wrong. Lower gear = higher RPMs and more gas consumption. You're actually using more gas. It is, however, easier on your brakes. Right now gas > brakes.
Ah, brakes was probably what I was thinking of. Thanks for saving me some frustration...

My Mood:
When you use CC it will not raise or lower RPMs unless going uphill. It would save gas in the long run unless you are going up a very big hill.
