Unfortunate he left us at such a young age. I followed boxing very close in those years, watched them all. No doubt in my mind that Salvador was the greatest all around boxer I ever saw, that includes all the other weight divisions, he could do it all.

I could not agree with you more. Sanchez had it all: Footwork, stamina, speed, could hit like a ton of bricks, had an anchor for a chin (he was knocked down once his whole career) had tremendous heart, great defense, and was brilliant as a counter puncher. He was flawless. The one loss on his career, against Antonio Becerra for the Mexican Bantanweight title was widely seen as a hometown decision (He had completely outclassed Becerra) and fan started throwing things into the ring.
In my opinion, the greatest fighter of all time.
The closest that compares with him is Strawweight legend Ricardo Lopez, also from Mexico, who went undefeated as both an amateur and as a pro (51-0-1, 38 KO's). Like Sanchez, he was perfect technically and had all the above attributes. Check him out on youtube. He is a marvle, much like Sanchez was, to watch.
If Sanchez had not died in that accident, there's no telling just how greater he could have been. He achieved the greatness in his 23 years in life than most never do, usually they have to die in order for that to happen.
