Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Animated)

Well the first trailer is out:

Apple - Trailers - Star Wars: the Clone Wars

Thoughts?

I think they should have done this as a live action movie...
------
Oh yeah. Almost none of the original voices.

Only three people from other Star Wars movies will reprise their roles for voiceovers:

Anthony Daniels - C-3PO
Samuel L. Jackson - Mace Windu
Matthew Wood - General Grivous

There is a new Yoda.. (YODA!), new Anakin and new Obiwan. Among whomever else. My big question is WHY! Just focus the efforts on 7, 8, and 9 please.

I'd much rather see more live action movies than this style. I also want to see continuity with the actors/actresses and their roles.

I would have been fine if they made an actual movie with real people called the clone wars but this is just nuts, star wars wasn't meant to be animated don't they realize this?

Well starwars started of animated ! but still after the real movies came i think it's pritty stupid to animate one, but if i was a parent id rather show my child an animated movie than an actual one. (of the starwars ofcource)

Since it is Star Wars I'll go see anything in that series. I have to admit the animations look nice for turning the cartoon series into 3D characters, the action sequences look kick-ass. It also seems like other Jedi we didn't hear much from in the movies finally get a part to play.

I like what I've seen of the combat scenes, but I'm still not able to wrap my head around the concept of an animated Star Wars; just doesn't do it for me. I guess I will watch it but hopefully they won't butcher it, but what they have now looks good, especially the graphics.

Graphics are pretty good. I'm just disappointed that they weren't able to get the main actors back...

Ewon McGregor is huge now. But George Lucas has money. Pay the man to voice Obi-Wan already.

And ditching Frank Oz as Yoda? I read that in an interview Frank Oz wasn't even aware of "The Clone Wars" project when asked if he will be reprising his role as Yoda. Instead they are going with the guy who did Yoda's voice in the Cartoon Network clone wars show.

I don't really consider this as part of the movie series anyway though. I will wait for DVD just because I don't want to publicly support this type of Star Wars movie. As good as it looks it's just not going to come anywhere close to a live action movie.

I actually hope it fails compared to the prequels so Lucas can realize that 7, 8, and 9 need to be made. Not only made, but made as live action.
