Bonjour!
Since blogging about my real life won't generate much interest unless you're a stay-at-home parent and think that baby poop is a big event, I decided to write about GF life instead, hence the gfisms series. Enjoy!

GFisms 29: All Around the Town
Posted 05-19-2009 at 02:53 PM by ysabel
It's another day in GF town.
The Clubs are dead. The clubs allow the union of people who have something in common (interests, status, etc.). You get invited or your join and then have your own headquarters. Well, the HQs are empty. I made an experiment sometime back with all the HQs of my clubs and alas, no response. That leads me to the conclusion that the clubs are indeed dead. I wonder what to do with my memberships.
The Game Room has changed. I forgot if I ever mentioned the new policies in the Game Room that awarded frequent players who are good, as opposed to those who might be good but would only visit once in a while (or maybe not even come back). This has encouraged more participation from various players. The wall of fame currently shows the portraits of Tina (at top spot!), Kong (he's always there anyway, haha), and Buster. Beardy and I have been inactive. Justine has also been impressive in various games, especially if it involves gold digging (she even won a tournament trophy!)
Mafiaaaaaaaaaa! It's time again for another Mafia game. Of course the news excited my fellow MISBs, Dolce and Tom. The game wouldn't be the same without them. I thought about not joining because it was so hard not to talk to them about the game. Last time I almost wanted it to be over asap so we can laugh about our mafia selves. This time, I'm giving incentives for whoever gets killed first. It's not really a consolation prize but a motivation for people to be crazier and not be afraid to die in the beginning (either through lynching or murder). Now we can get hyper over the idea of dying.
Lost and Found. It looks like a Missing Persons bureau sometimes at the High Society. Where is he? Where is she? It's sweet that some people actually notice when one of the townspeople is gone for some time. It gives a community feeling - that people care (aww, whether for real or not, haha). What's interesting about it are the explanations people give or the speculations surrounding the absence. Fun theories. Some of these missing persons are "found" after some time. They made their way back (like Visa, yay!). Now imagine the opposite of this, like a Deportation bureau where people would file names of people they see but wish were gone. Now that is not exactly nice but I'm not going to lie, I'd be interested to find out the submissions. :)
GF Churches. These days, I understand more why some people don't go to church. I'm trying to avoid the cult area and I'm glad that there are other people in the law enforcement team assigned to patrol that. For example, we have Gymru who is stuck with that task as he recently joined the team after Nobel took a sabbatical. It's not really the place which is wrong, but the people who make the place less of a sanctuary. There's Me who is always in his own world. Entering his church is like being in outerspace. But that's not the issue. He doesn't care if you feel like the alien or you think he's an alien. Peace. And then there's Unix who manages to turn most conversations with him centered on his church. And now there's Antidolce who hang around the churches area not because he has one but because he hates them and wants to remind every passerby of this sentiment.
Here and there. Other than these, life in town is the same. The Town Hall is deserted unlike before but I've come to accept it as a natural phase (sometimes it's active, sometimes not) just like The Casino. Mayor Rick is organising another contest but the details aren't that defined yet. Wit is enjoying being the only male member of the sorority. Oh and there's a rumor about how OCB broke someone's heart, so badly that the person was driven out of town, haha.
Until next entry, bonne journée!
PS. I didn't do the hyperlinks this time but if you're still lost with some GFisms terms, the Inside GFisms on the left bar (below my avatar) contains the glossary and is available for consultation at all times.
