I have too many books to list here. Not enough room in this forum for that.

I used to read a lot of fiction and poetry, but through the years, I have really changed my way of thinking from that. I am not saying I don't like or appreciate those any more,it's just that I see life too short (to me) to spend it on not learning something new (no offense to any of you that truly like fiction!) Now I tend to explore books on politics, self-help, instructional (calligraphy, home repairs and remodelling, arts and crafts, computer, etc), gardening, cooking and entertaining, childrearing(helping to raise my 2yr old grandchild. Parenting ways have changed since I raised my kids, so I am always looking to learn something new). I like learning new things.

Manga can be counted, but if you just own manga, don't post here. I'm focusing on actual books, not graphic novels.
I have some old text books I never returned to school, I have about a dozen Chilton auto manuals, some survival guides, historical writings about the revolutionary war, the civil war, the second world war, and the cold war, a biography on Erwin Rommel, I have a couple Qu'rans, a Bible or two, and the below listed literature:

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail 1972
Screwjack
The Rum Diaries
Kingdom of Fear
Compilation of short stories and poems written by Edgar Allan Poe
The Portable Conrad
Mein Kampf
The Art of War

I usually rent books from the library though, 'cause books are ****ing expensive...

I could open a small library .. Resource materials ( maps, charts, dictionaries, political documents, legal documents, recipes, holistic & conventional medical resources, children's & adult encyclopedias, periodicals on a variety of subjects ), politics, philosophy, religion, psychology, strategy, mysticism, mathematics, science, children's & adult fiction (novels, plays, poetry) , biographies, textbooks from elementary to post grad, music for a variety of instruments, Art, plans for a variety of machinery, crafts & structures + my own stuff .. rarely do we return from the market place without a book or resource material of some kind ... + with the advent of computers, I now have a store of fiction & nonfiction, documentaries, performances, plans, resource materials that dwarfs the hard copy that fills my home ..

You cant ever read enough or learn enough from other peoples efforts .. yet books will never teach you how to think .. nature & sweating out problems is the teacher of conscious thought IMO .. a balance must be struck between knowledge & inteligence .. wisdom costs the most .. a clean sheet of paper will always be far more of a challenge than anybody else's writing or plan .. so far as I can tell ..

I donno...maybe five. owever, I read around 5-6 books on a good week. For me, buying books is just a waste of money since I never read the same bok twice, so i get all my books from the library.

But, we have a small library-type room in our house filled with my mom's books. She kind of...colects nooks, i guess. She's probably got over a thousand. As far as i know, she doesn't even read most of her books--she gets them on tape. What's the point of keeping all of the books?
