Lightbulb Surreal reads

I'm looking for recommendations of what you'd consider falls under this heading.
'100 years of solitude' lit a fire I've not managed to put out yet. I'm trying to get to grips with Will Self, a kind of punk-rock intellectual heavy-weight.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Right now I'm reading Winkie by Clifford Chase, about a teddy bear who comes to life and is accused of committing terrorist acts.

I've never read any Garcia Marquez so I'm not sure if this is the kind of thing you're looking for, but it definitely qualifies as surreal.

Anita: if she were in front of me i would punch her in the throat just b/c of the way she types

see? it's not just me.
