Re: Ever try to write down a dream you had?

I keep a dream diary next to my bed. I've developed some great ideas by logging my dreams.

I can never remember my dreams, just bits and pieces of them. I wake up and I think that I just had an awesome dream but then I can't remember what it was.

Steve is right about various methods helping to remember dreams. Supposedly if you write down your dreams (anything you remember about them) right after you wake up, you'll remember dreams more frequently.

I tried writing the parts down that I remembered once but it didn't do much for me. Now I just remember those parts and can't remember how everything connected.

You probably have to do it every day for several weeks. After a while it should just become routine. Remembering part of a dream is better than remembering nothing. I've never actually done it, so who knows. It's something I've always wanted to do. Maybe I'll start tomorrow.

I tend to write down my dreams and find the meanings behind them. If you make a point to remember the dream when you wake up, by just laying there and thinking back on it (not being awakened suddenly helps alot as well). I believe the vitamin Scuba was talking about is either vitamin B6 or B12, cant remember for sure.

I used to try that, but i only got a few written down. I couldn't remember them only seconds after. The ones i did remember didn't make any sense anyway.

Anmy of you believe dreams can have external reasons?/foreshadowing type stuff?

I've had deja vu-like experiences where stuff will happen exactly as it did in dreams I've had. And I had a dream about a tidal wave just a few days before the big tsunami a few years ago. I don't know if this kind of stuff is just pure chance or what.

I was going to start writing down my dreams this morning, but I forgot to keep a notebook and pen next to my bed. I woke up and remembered parts of a dream, but I was too lazy to get out of bed to right it down, so I went back to sleep and now I don't remember anything. Next time I'll be more prepared.

Most of your dreams(in my opinion) can have multiple external meanings, you just have to take the time to pick them apart. Ill give an example that I wrote in Psych. and post it later on some time.

I dreamt that I had the winning lottery numbers but when I woke up, I forgot the numbers. True Dream too.
