Favourite Genre?
I might be wrong but i can't say i noticed a thread on this, so i figured i'd ask what's your fav genre and why??
Alot of people mention fantasy novels, which i have to say is my personal choice. It's like a minature escape from your current location, getting to know lots of new people and a whole new place. I suppose you could just go on holiday, but i doubt it would be surreal enough and the possibilities as unlimited :D the only thing is i find after finishing one i always feel a little resentment at the fact is isn't real. Anyone else like that??

Yeah pretty much. I used to be like that as well. Was really into fantasy type books, and still enjoy them. But these days I can't get a hold on any without spending money so I just borrow books from my mum who doesn't read that genre, so I get used to reading all types, as long as they are readable I really don't mind.

I like fantasy books but my favorite right now is realistic sci-fi/action. Basically Michael Crichton type stuff. Jurassic Park, Sphere, Andromeda Strain, etc.

I love fantasy, the problem is that there is such a wide selection of ****ty fantasy that it's hard to find a good one. Rarely does any author try something new with fantasy, it's always the same crap.
I love action and suspense, but I haven't read much lately.

I agree, it can be really difficult to find a decent fantasy novel :( even worse when you think a book is alright and then find the rest of the series just goes to...

I mainly read Sci-Fi books - mainly Alastair reynolds stuff, although I do read biographies too and the odd true crime book
