The novel "Call Me By Your Name" (which was on the New York Times best books of 2007 list) is phenomenal. It's one of the most beautiful, haunting and depressing love stories I've ever read. It could possibly by my favorite book. I was in tears almost the entire thing.

Also, "The Year of Ice" by Brian Malloy.
