The longest book I've ever read was just under 1000 pages. like 970 or something. It was either Stephen Kings 'The Stand' or 'It' or it was Dean Koontz "Strangers". I can't remember, and I'd have to go find the books to see.

I read 'Gone With The Wind' twice and then I read the sequel 'Scarlett' (another authour) once. GWTW is about 1030 pages and S is a bout 900 pages.

Thomas Mann's "The Magic Mountain" and Dostoyevsky's "Crime and Punishment" with about 1000 pages each.

Currently, I'm reading "The Brothers Karamazov" by Dostoyevsky, which has about 1500 pages.

Gone with the Wind and I'm not sure how many pages it had, but I remember it was really thick, and that was Stephen King's "IT". That book also scared the bejeebies outta me, and I've never been able to look at clowns in the same way I did.

The longest trilogy I've read is Jean Auel's Clan of the Cave Bears and V.C. Andrews "Flowers in the Attic".

The Dragonlance Cycle I, over 13,000 pages.
Of course, it's split into separate physical volumes, but it still counts as one book.

I have read many long books. I think the best long book was War and peace.
I read a series by Upton Sinclair called "The Lanny Budd Series" It's quite a few books, 10 I think, of about 700 pages each. Anyone who is interested in the history of left vs right and the evolution of modern political thought should read this series. It is very entertaining along with very informative. I read it in my 20's and it helped form my political ideas to this day. Albert Einstein said,"Anything I want to know about about the modern age I can find it in the Lanny Budd books. You will have to get them from the library because they are long out of print. Make sure you read them in order.

"The Stand" by Stephen King, and also "Mists of Avalon" by Marion Zimmer Bradley, I think they were the longest books I read.
