I've been thinking of writng a play and cant think up a plot will you guys give me some help with one.

I have to agree with Angels, you shouldn't need help.

lol - at first I thought Angel was referring to your writing, then it dawned on me that if you want to be a writer and write a play you should get YOUR OWN IDEAS.

Either way, this thread has more fail than I've seen in quite some time.

I won't help you come up with a plot, but I will help you help yourself to come up with a plot...

What really inspires me is just random things... In my art class I can look around the room for about twenty minutes before I get an idea. Reading a book and seeing a certain word will cause a whole story to flash before my eyes. Seeing a movie and watching a character give a sly smile gives me tingles as another story is written before my very eyes.

Basically, find what inspires you. And for god sakes, don't ask others for ideas. Only inspiration.

Create some interesting characters, and let them build the plot for you. A lot of great fiction writers don't sit down with a clear idea of where they intend to go with a story. For my part, I think a plot simply serves the main point of a work, which is to be interesting. A play that goes nowhere in terms of plot could still be quite worthwhile if it were solid in other regards. Art has no rules.

Do you at least have a setting for the play?

yeah i do have a setting It's in America's distant future. Thanx guys for the critisism
