The Pearl
I think I've read the Pearl too. At least I remember reading or seeing something about a Pearl that gave me nightmares for weeks afterwards. I kept dreaming that I was part of the story. Were there Sting rays/Manta rays involved in that book at all?

The Crucible by Arthur Miller

Has anybody read these before? Some of them have interesting titles, I have heard that uncle toms cabin is pretty good.
I don't have to read anything over the summer because I'm not in AP English (best decision of my life). Honors, over here, doesn't require summer reading.

You haven't heard of Uncle Tom's Cabin? I've read an excerpt and learned about it in US history, but I haven't fully read it. Good luck with that. It's full of old lingo.

Of Mice and Men was a good book. Really sad though. We watched the movie as well. it wasn't as good as the book.

I only saw the movie for The Crucible, and it pissed me off.

The Crucible was good, I liked it. It's a pretty easy read. I never knew there was a movie for it though, was it really that bad?

I watched the Crucible, but I liked it :) Salem Witch Trials have always fascinated me.

And I say the musical of Jane Eyre and loved the story. Ever since I saw that when I was 12, I wanted to read the book, but I knew i wouldn't understand it that young. I'm glad I get a chance now :)

There was a scorpion in The Pearl, but not sting or manta rays.
