Summer Reading for school

For those of us still in school, or college, i was wondering what books you have to read over the summer, if any. here's my list:

All school book: Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin

Specific 10th grade books:
The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd
Ellen Foster by Kaye Gibbons

And then two books of our choice from this list:
http://www.bls.org/doc_content/10thGrade.pdf

I chose Franny and Zooey by J.D. Salinger
and A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway

The three exam schools in Boston have to read these books, so basicall you have almost 7,000 kids trying to get the all school book, so the hold list from the Library is LONG. And then about 2,000 kids trying to read the other two books.

I already have 4 of the 5 books, so i'll have my reading and essays done about 3 weeks into vacation.

soooooo, what do you have to read?

Ernest Ransom: These are not the best if times...as your editorials remind us
A.A. Hayes : Why not get a Democrat back in there?
Ernest Ransom: These are not the worst of times eithers

Dingley Falls by Michael Malone

heh, that reminds me that i need to do my summer reading before the summers up, I don't want to fail English. But of course I haven't even heard of the books that i have to read.

Uncle Tom’s Cabin
Autobiography of Ben Franklin
Of Mice and Men
The Crucible by Arthur Miller

Has anybody read these before? Some of them have interesting titles, I have heard that uncle toms cabin is pretty good.

This one right here is when I don't have to do it, which leaves nothing else but the one. No I don't think so. Not there. God I wish I could turn the volume-OH **** Aahhh son of a **** I talk too much. ****." - 00vega -

Which of Mince And Men? They are both by John Steinbeck, but I liked the play better than the book. I recommend reading the play if you have the choice.

Unfortunately I don't have a choice it's for Honors english so we'll be going over every last detail so it's very very important to get the right book.

I never had to read books over the summer. I'm sure glad I didn't too, that would suck to have to write book reports during summer break.

I've read Of Mice and Men and it's great read, I read it when I was in High School and I couldn't put it down after I started reading it. You won't get tired of this book in my opinion.

I swing big, with everything I've got. I hit big or I miss big. I like to live as big as I can." Babe Ruth
