Playing online: 80/20 Rule

I often play poker online so when you find online offers referring to 80/20 rules and such it makes you wonder. I found this while looking into this rule. How do you play?

Quote:
THe rule of 80/20 is that you should play ruffly 1/5th of the pots on the interent. You should only be in the pots if you have a hand worth a raise that will keep out opponents. If you like to call the big blind every time you will see that you will just be donating your chips to other players slowly with the small and big blinds moving around the table. The 80 is to show that 80 percent of the table will play more pots than that 20% so they are just waiting for a truly skilled player to consistantly beat them because they have better hands. This means that the skilled player will often win pots with higher kickers bc the bad opponent will not realize the weakness in a low kicker.

I usually play a fifth of the pots (if not a tenth) if it's a big table (7-10 maybe), because people tend to be aggressive, bet high, and someone will probably have a way better hand than me.

In 10 person tournaments, I don't even start playing until about hand 5, because someone always goes all in by then, and I don't want to call them if I don't have fantastic cards.

I probably play to some point in the hand about 25%-33% of hands in a small game.

Doesn't seem like there is a big poker following.

When I play online I always and ONLY play sure deals on LIMIT, but No Limit is my territory.

NL online with fake money has a tendency to suck, pot limit is actually the better mode for play money if you like poker at its finest, as its easier to bluff, draw in money, and anticipate your opponents.
