Early concepts for the Joker in DARK KNIGHT

I'm thankful they didn't use any of these. They're scarier than the Joker in TDK but they don't really have the Joker feel(if that makes any sense).

The 1st and 3rd pictures look like they should be in a horror film,in fact the 3rd could be a new rendition of leather face

Those are all pretty similar to the final joker though. They just added makeup over his scars and had him grow his hair out. (He actually grew his real hair out for the role).

I like the one they chose best though.

I like the one they chose, too. The scars aren't as heavy on the way back and the makeup/hair was awesome.

There's an awesome art book out there all about the Dark Knight and it has a ton of concept art. Great stuff.
