If only 50-75% of the Joker scenes had been filmed

If Heath Ledger had died with only 50-75% of the Joker scenes done (and several very important scenes not filmed yet), what would you want to happen?

Reshoot completely with a new Joker actor and include Heath Ledger scenes on the Bonus DVD.

Use CG, prosthetics and voice actors to finish the film with Heath's scenes intact.

I'd say reshoot. 25-50% of the footage would have been VERY expensive and time consuming to create digitally. They'd have to just release the best of the Ledger scenes as part of the bonus DVD and we'd have to be happy with that. Luckily this was not the case.

Thoughts?

I would say to release 2 versions of the movie (one with a completely new actor, and one with all of the heath ledger scenes) but of course release them in the same set so that everyone watches them.

"Ohh! OOOhhh!!!-Oh and again! I made it. I know it. I can't see it but I know I made it. Oh my God I made it. Alright, don't give up. This is for everything. This is when I don't have to do it. This one right here is when I don't have to do it, which leaves nothing else but the one. No I don't think so. Not there. God I wish I could turn the volume-OH **** Aahhh son of a **** I talk too much. ****." - 00vega -

Releasing both would be a stupid option. They aren't going to go through all the word to digitally finish the one version just to make a WHOLE new version too.

That's kind of why I gave only 2 options. There really isn't an all of the above option here.

No matter what they did it wouldn't help, if they used a new actor, if they completely reshot the entire thing, it would not be as powerful and magnificent as the one they have presented to us.

Under either of the two circumstances I would not see it.

Yeah, way too expensive to redo all of that not to mention, the knowledge that almost half the film was a lie would suck.

neither would work, logistically they would not have been able to afford either but of the two options it would have been way cheaper to finish it digitally and they would make more money back with heath ledger as opposed to some overpayed replacement.... since they filmed in IMAX it was already more expencive and having to reshoot they would have gone over budget and either wouldnt do the film period, turn out a ****ty version, or would have to switch the later shot parts out of IMAX.... all in all a suckish senario for the production/film studios and teams.

in summery, digi would have been only option

They only shot about 15% of it in IMAX (20 mins).

WB would have increased their budget. Not to mention maybe they have insurance for things like this happening. Who knows though.

I am not going to jump on the fanboy bandwagon and say that Heath Ledger was the ONLY person who could have played the Joker in a way that would have blown us away. There are numerous other actors who could have pulled it off equally as good. Leonardo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp are two that come to mind as obvious choices.

> 75% -- Reshoot. There isn't enough footage to make a quality film.
< 75% -- CGI/film tricks. There is plenty of footage and CGI now is amazing.
