I'm sure it probably has in certain plot lines. It's just, the way in which it was done really did seem to challenge the dynamic of people being able to contact him when theres trouble and that dynamic is important to the comics.

Why not Bane? I mean, he would be hard to fit into Nolan's Gotham, but I think he could work with a little modification.

Bane (comics - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
Bruce (and Gotham) seems to be at his lowest, darkest point. What better shot at redemption than defeating this ultimate villain?

That article specifically said it was not clear if this was a Catwoman spinoff movie or related to the next Nolan movie.

It is not clear whether she would play the role in the current Batman film series, starring Christian Bale as the caped crusader, or in a spin-off film as Halle Berry did in 2004's Catwoman.

God I hope not. I doubt it's a Nolan film (at least that's what I'm praying).

Jolie might be an alright Catwoman.
Bane would be cool. But I think it's too early in Batman's career to have his back be broken. Part of what made it epic was that Batman had been around for years, had a lot of enemies, etc. Bane letting everyone out of Arkham now wouldn't even be as big of a deal. Also, Batman having his back broken wouldn't be as big of a deal to Gothamites, since Batman is so new to them.

It would be an amazing movie.
