I feel like also that nolan would never put robin in because he really wants to worry about the development of batman as a person. I feel like it would actually be a good time to introduce catwoman as a potential love interest to present internal conflict to bruce wayne. The thing is not Halle berry as catwoman but the catwoman from the comics. Robin would not work well with Nolan's view because he focuses mainly on Batman/Bruce Wayne's development
Wow, the votes are really against the idea of Robin.
I don't know; I think if Nolan writes him, that he wouldn't be nearly as irritating as the Robin as played by Chris O'Donnell.
Besides, the way the story was going, what with it being mentioned that "Batman's looking for someone to take his place," I felt that that was going to be part of the lead-up to the introduction of Robin. Yeah, I know they were referring to Harvey Dent, but still...
And I thought this Joker was way more interesting and intriguing than the one played by Jack Nicholson. He was way more unpredictable and extremely true to the character of Joker. Imagine what could be done with Robin?
I'd like to see Robin introduced, but it wouldn't feel right until at least the fourth or fifth movie. The presence of Robin could allow exploring lots of new aspects of Batman's character, as it forces him to deal with someone who is becoming just like him, but has a guiding hand that Batman himself lacked. Bruce essentially becomes the boy's father while training the kid to one day take his place. There's all kinds of character story potential in that. But before it can get to that point, Bruce has to come to the realization that Gotham will always need a Batman. He hasn't reached that point in the movies yet and probably won't until #4.
Yes and here's why, Robin is what keeps bat-man from going over the edge, Robin is why batman is batman and not the punisher. He doesn't have to be some 12 year old kid, he doesn't have to be Chris O'Donnell. If Nolan wants to go real grim he can go with the tale of Jason Todd, who got his head bashed in by the Joker. Or have the villian kill a friend of Robin's. Which is not to say the character isn't gritty on his own. (spoiler coming) In Joker's Last Laugh, NightWing (the former Robin) actually beats the Joker to death with his barehands.
Point of the story is, Robin is way t0o important to Batman's character to be shrugged off as Nolan has done.
Read the following batman trades I think you might agree-
Joker's Last Laugh
Death in the Family (this is a must read)
Wargames
I can't think of anymore right now
------
Nolan has said he won't do a Robin

It would have to be a big feat of directing to actually make Robin succeed as a character. The reason why I like the idea of Cat woman is because of the fact that shes really just neutral. But at the same time she's really big in Batman's life. Especcially with the grit they put on in these new movies I think that there's this really good mix of seductives and grittyness to put in if Cat Womans there. I think as part of the develppment of Batman, seeing his opposite really makes ti deep. To see how the villans of the story really form Batman.
Given the really bleak ending of THE DARK KNIGHT and Batman's confirmed outlaw status (let's not forget that's he's now wanted for murder as well as all those other violations of civil rights, due process and property damage)it probably isn't a good time for him to be hanging out with a kid in spandex.
And in the Nolan version of Batman he's already got an excellent support system in Alfred, Lucius Fox and Commissioner Gordon. What I really would like to see introduced in the third film is Barbara Gordon but not as Batgirl. Introduce her as Oracle right from the start and have her provide direct informational/tactical assistance to Batman when he's out in the field.
I'm not too crazy about introducing Catwoman or any other woman as a love interest for Bruce Wayne in the third film as I think he'll probably have a lot of other things on his mind besides romance to think about. But I would change my mind if they introduced Vicki Vale or Silver St. Cloud...

Oracle's awesome, but for her to be introduced now would be a RIDICULOUS change from the DC continuity. I'm against that.

Why? They've already changed Ra's Al Ghul significantly from his DC incarnation and nobody seemed particularly upset by that. Matter of fact a good majority of Batman fans liked the change. Same thing with The Joker and The Scarecrow, neither one of which has been presented the way they were introduced in DC continuity and nobody's drinking Drano because of the changes.

I didn't notice that level of change in any of those three. Maybe I'm just blind - you'll have to spell it out for me.
A large part of Oracle's persona is being Gordon's daughter, the former Batgirl, and paralyzed by the Joker. That's who she is. They kept Ra's as a terrorist willing to kill millions for the "greater good", who wanted Batman to fight on his side. They kept Scarecrow as a psychologist who was obsessed with fear, used fear toxin, and wore a weird mask. And they kept Joker as a psychotic anarchist who rapidly went from unknown to holding the entire city in a grip of terror. He killed people despite police protection, just like in the comics. And he escaped from police custody, as per usual.
