Watchmen
I am surprised I didnt see a thread for this. If you saw dark knight you saw the trailer for Watchmen. I personally think this looks pretty good. I dont know a whole a lot about the comic watchmen but the little I do makes me excited for the movie. What does everyone else think?

The graphic novel is by far my favorite comic of all time. Nothing even comes close to it in terms of depth. The trailer may not have conveyed that (how could it?), but it was nevertheless awesome.
Edit: Also, if anyone failed to notice, I pimped out my title, avatar, and signature with Watchmen references. So, yeah, I am a bit of a fan.

Haha I was gonna make my avatar Watchmen but I couldn't find the pic I have on my computer but eventually.
Watchmen really is an amazing, classic comic. It's one of those books you could read again and again and pick up new things. I enjoy how the moral compass works in the book, meaning, who's actually the bad guy(s) and who's the good guy(s)?
The trailer was amazing. It made me actually love another Smashing Pumpkins song. Just a perfect usage of it. I have no doubts the movie will be great. Sure, it may not have the depth the comic had but if they're smart they'd use the movie version to examine movie issues like the comic did to comics. But that's just me. If they just translate the book to the screen panel for panel that'd be amazing too.

I did some more research and found out that this comic was the start of the "superhero" with flaws theme which gave a lot of depth to many super heroes so we should all thank watchmen

Well at least I'm not alone here. I saw the trailer and my interest was peaked. Before the trailer I'd never heard of the Watchmen, so I know absolutely nothing about it.
I'm thinking this weekend I'll run to Barnes & Noble and see if I can find myself a copy. Sounds like this graphic novel is one every fan of comics should get a hold of. After I've read it I'll post my further opinions. 'Till then I cant wait.

I don't know anything about watchmen. Seeing the previews, it seemed kinda interesting, but I think it'll be one of those movies where I wait to see how others review it before I go see it.

It came out in the mid-80's. I think there were flaws in superheroes before the 80's.

Yea but it was not common in the least. I watched a whole documentary on the evolution of comics through the years and Watchmen was the first popular comic where the main characters (heroic ones) had major character flaws

Anyone who's seen TDK has seen the trailer. It has that noir look and feel to it and possibly a little more thriving on the story and the characters than 300 did.
I'm interested but not sure if I'll see it in theaters.
