» Wolverine Solo Movie on the Way Hold on to your hats, mutant lovers! 20th Century Fox has released the following statement to update movie fans on "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," the highly anticipated X-prequel set to star Marvel's lovable Canucklehead:
"'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' is set to star [Hugh] Jackman and will be directed by Gavin Hood ('Tsotsi,' 'Rendition'). The producers are Lauren Shuler Donner and Ralph Winter (who produced all three previous 'X-Men' films), along with Jackman and his Seed Prods. producing partner, John Palermo. The film will be executive produced by Marvel Films' Kevin Feige.

Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe."

I am a fan of the X-men and would love to see this movie...I hope they follow the comic origins and not a half assed re-written Teen drama crap.
They will have their work cut out , the fans of wolverine are a picky lot and will not stand for them screwing him up or messing up the origins story.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that Gambit will make his first cameo and could lead to his story as well as some others that need to be told on the big screen.
All in all I can't wait to see it..I'll post more as it comes available..
for more info on this movie or any marlvel stuff you want to know go here Iron Man, Spider-man, The Hulk, the X-men, and all things Marvel. Marvel news, movies, comics, and video games.
till next time.................

Re: Wolverine Movie
I don't know what to expect from this movie, I'm a big fan of Wolverine he's my favorite X-Men, but I don't know how they're going to make this work. It should be pretty interesting, and I'll probably see it when it comes out, but I don't really have high hopes for this movie, and it wouldn't surprise me if this movie is awful.

Re: Wolverine Movie
It could be good. I liked X2 a lot and mostly because of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. The backstory in X2 touched in his past, but didn't go too far. This movie could be very cool but I'm not going to get my hopes up either. I wasn't a big fan of X3 (it was good but not great), and I'm going to be careful with what I expect going into this one.
I don't think I've seen any of Gavin Hood's movies, but it's good to see the producers of the X-Men trilogy are back for Wolverine.

Re: Wolverine Movie
I love Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. I only saw the first X-Men movie, and I really felt two ways about it. I thought some of the casting was awesome, and some of it completely sucked *cough*halle-berry-as-storm*cough* but I would see the Wolverine movie. definitely.

Re: Wolverine Movie
I'm skeptical. Prequels generally suck, so there is already one strike against it. Also, I have a feeling they might try to do the same thing they did with X-3 and try and shoehorn in tons of different characters to appease fans (Angel in X-3 was all but pointless, and lots of others were never even developed *cough*Juggernaut*cough*)
I'm giving this movie a 45% chance of sucking so far. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

Re: Wolverine Movie
I'm going to have to give the movie a 75% chance of sucking based on how horrible the third X-Men movie was.
I like Jackman and Wolverine is a badass character, but X3: The Last Stand really disappointed me.

I don't usually like prequels either, but, who knows. I didn't expect much from Batman Begins either and I was left speechless after watching it.
If Wolverine is half as good as Batman Begins I'll be happy.

Re: Wolverine Movie
I wouldn't really call Batman Begins a prequel. It was more of a "re-imagining" than a prequel, trying to wash away the bad taste from Batman & Robin.

Re: Wolverine Movie
Batman kind of already has a prequel. It was a cartoon version called Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, although it didn't really start in his childhood. It pretty much explains why Bruce/Batman is the man he is.
Anyway, Wolverine isn't my favorite mutant. Far from it, I think. I just have a weird sense that everyone likes him too, so I don't want to be like everyone else. *shrugs* It's like that with most other major characters from other movies/shows.
I heard it was either going to be Wolverine or Magneto. I definitely would've liked Magneto, but I guess He's not as popular. I'll go see this one too because I want to see the "legends of the X-Men universe".

Re: Wolverine Movie
I dunno, this seems like its going to turn out like Daredevil and Electra...I mean Wolverine is awesome and everything but Stan Lee made him too powerful. The guy is like almost Superman, it's annoying. Make a movie about Xavier, Magnito, Rouge or someone else, hell even Cable. A Wolverine movie seems like its going to be a blockbuster bust, and truthfully I hope it is.
They need to be working on X-4 and get some Apocolypse action going, make a sequal out of that. Actually Have Gambit, Psylock, Emma Frost, Jubilee another X-Men come into the view. It was awesome they brought in Colossus, Ice-Man and Shadow Cat.....but let's have an actually group of more than 5 good mutants.
