Mind you, I'd prefer to make my own hero...

Negatory - you're both wrong; Joker could never get that close to Magneto without some serious trickery, and lets face it - a) Magneto is too clever / paranoid about befreinding pretty much anyone, let alone someone like Joker, and b) Joker's just too damn annoying to trust!

You seem to think the Joker is stupid or something. The joker isn't some small time crook. He's a serious threat, he gives DC villains Nightmares. The US declared war on the Joker. That's right, war on one man.
See that? That's canon. The Joker can deck Superman with a chicken. The Joker would totally win against Magneto.

Bah, lies lies lies - the Joker is a crazy, half baked Idiot. Magneto, while also being slightly crazy, is just way cooler.

When magneto walks into a room, people try to fight him. This is because they know pretty much what he's going to do. When Joker comes, they pay attention. Because they have no clue what he's going to do next.
