Now who am I to be saying this? I used to work in the comic industry ( I drew and inked for some of the bigger boys on the block when they were first starting out.

You can ask Hybrix..No joke.

I'm not trying to be critical but if you want to make in the comic world you have to stand out above all the others out there.

But it's not a bad start. How long does your story line go for? Do you pencil them first or do you do it all at once?

I would recommend Photoshop and Flash to help you out along the way. Freehand will only get you so far.

But as I said not a bad start. Keep it up and you just might have something.
thanks a lot, I really appreciate it. I haven't had any formal training, just a couple well worn books. the tend to pencil my comics, and then ink them manually, then scan them and do the panels, coloring, and speech in photoshop. I'd really LIKE to just scan in the pencils and ink them digitally, so I can get rid of the scanned image afterwards and color them solidly, but right now the coloring is just painted on at about 70% opacity on another layer. like you said, freehand can only get me so far, so I'm working on converting to a more digital media. as for story, its a long one. I'm planning on doing the entire bible, old and new testament, just for a start, and I'm still stuck on Adam and Eve. and thats about 20 pages. so I'll be doing this for quite a while.

in the meantime, I'll work on blocking and shadows, I'll play with textures as well as detail. I'm really glad you took the time to take a look at my work, and to get a professional opinion. thanks! :)

It looks okay but for depictions of God I think it's kind of kooky. I'd imagine you're trying to stray away from cliches, but I'll never be able to read your comic without thinking:

DUH NAH NAH NAH!

hahaha, now THAT made me laugh. its a little late in the game to give God a makeover, though. on the bright side, you can think of him as half-ghost, half-gellatinous blob...or something...
