I used to say the same thing about Superman/Clark Kent. I didn't see how anybody could be fooled by a pair of glasses. But then I started wearing contact lenses and I was surprised at how many times I would pass friends and associates on the street and they would walk right by without acknowledging me. When I said something to them they would look right at me in confusion for a few seconds before saying: "Y'know, I didn't recognize you at all without your glasses!" And I'm talking about people who knew me for years, not casually.
And there's a scene in either SUPERMAN or SUPERMAN II that's a testament to the extraordinary acting ability of Christopher Reeve. Clark Kent is seriously considering telling Lois Lane he's Superman. Her back is turned and he takes off his glasses and in that instant you can actually see him change from Clark Kent to Superman. His facial expression, body language and entire physical attitude is transformed right before your eyes. It's the most remarkable special effect in the entire movie.

I also think Superman. I think I comment on it every time we watch the movie. I'm not a huge comic book junkie though, so I don't know what all the little more obscure characters look like.

I dont feel that the Punisher really fits into this category. His battles are usually Personal Vendetta related, so most his enemies know he's Frank Castle. And on top of that didnt he generally keep a low profile as a citizen anyway?
However on the flip side... if he's spraying bullets all over the place, killing people for personal reasons and all that. How come the police havent cracked down on him yet? Ok so maybe he should fit into a similar category.

I would have to say Superman and Wonder Woman have the worst disguise of all the hero's in my book. Oh yeah! Don't forget Plastic man..Old stretchy realy has no disguise. He was a short lived hero.

How odd, you'd figure a guy whose powers are shapeshifting wouldn't have that problem.

Add Beast Boy and Starfire to the list as well. Then you also need to add the Wonder Twins to the list too.
What about Space Ghost, does he count?

Once Plastic Man went to work for the FBI there was no reason for him to have a 'secret identity' And these days he very rarely uses or goes by his real name of Eel O'Brian.
