Umm GROSS!!!

I think this is the right place to put this little rant. It's been a while since I've perused the weird auctions on eBay, but the boss is gone and I had a little time on my hands. When did that section become so risque? Every other picture shows half dressed women on the gallery pic and eBay is allowing this?
What baffles me the most is that artists are having their fairy sculpts pulled because some are displayed in the nude. Soooo, what eBay is saying is that dirty, nasty pic's put out there for anyone to see are okay, but ART in it's truest form is not?

yea I saw an auction a couple of days ago selling sexy pics of so and so and I thought the same thing Angel. I don't understand what Ebay is thinking. I have been pretty irritated with Ebay for a little while now for just that sort of thing. I haven't been selling anything for awhile. I'll have to get over that soon though I have a ton of little girls clothes to put up there.

Many of the "beholder's eyes" are underage and vulnerable, and the pic's are comparable to a Playboy centerfold.
Movies are rated for a reason, some of those auctions ought to be as well!

Re: Umm GROSS!!!

yeah, but your not a male. I would rather see a teenie looking at some of those pics than walking in on them watching some hardcore porn.

Ive seen some questionable pics out there, chicks in bathtubs and such, but people in tight clothing and not really showing off the goods, is alright by me!

Re: Umm GROSS!!!

For me it falls under the heading of expectations.
You have an expectation of privacy when you use the bathroom.

You have (or at least I do) an expectation of decency when viewing an auction on Ebay.

Far as I know and I don't know much, is Ebay does not actively police auctions. software catches some objectionable items, others go under the radar unless somebody reports them.

"Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges.
I don't have to show you any stinking badges!"

Absolutely! And as far as not being a male? ummm, Charley, last time I checked eBay was NOT a male only playground. The pics in the gallery in any heading (exception Adult Only) should be family friendly and not something you have to minimize when the kids walk into the room. I'm sick of the T/A all over the gallery! They usually don't even have anything to do with the content of the auction! example: "how to be a bajillionaire" or "make money with misspelled listings".

Re: Umm GROSS!!!

whatever, if some woman wants to pose in tight (or very little) clothing for pics on ebay, what can be done. Ive seen panties sell with nothing but a picture of a woman wearing them, pics of women in bathtubs (hawking items not even related to the pictures)

Unless theres a nipple or some (bush) showing, is there really a reason to censor it?

We see fake love sceens on TV all the time, be it in soap operas, prime time TV, or the weekend special. If someone wants to do it online and god forbid if it happens to be a auction, OMG its so wrong.

Remember people, treat others how you would like to be treated, and keep your double standards to yourself. If its alright for daytime TV then there is absolutly no problem doing it on the internet, let alone ebay!

You know what Chuck? I think we'll just agree to disagree on this one.

BTW, as far as double standards go, you're accusing the wrong person. Being the mom of 3 girls means constant censoring. I watch about 2 hours of TV a week, to me it's a waste of my valuable time, which means I am passing these same values on to my kids. They do not watch anything unless I have approved it!

I prefer to allow my tiny pieces of the world to be kids as long as possible!
