Now that it has been announced as a trilogy, I'll bet that we will at least see the Xel'Naga as a race, even if it isn't playable in multiplayer. But other that that, I see no reason to add races.

I heard it was supposed to be released in december, which would be great for blizzard if they could coincide it with the coming of Christmas, but then again, with all the resources they're devoting to their big cash cow (wow) who knows how long it'll really take. I can't imagine they'd have made such a big deal out of it if it wasn't really close to coming out, though.

Dude, Vilky? You doubted Blizzard? You think they would throw out a sequel to the best selling PC game of all time and half fast it?

No I always knew SC2 would be amazing and was waiting for the announcement for the past three years. This game will absorb much of my life just as the original did...

I doubt the release dates with Blizzard. I'm still waiting for StarCraft: Ghost to come out. Should have been released about four years ago, now.

But I'm excited for when it actually DOES come out. from what I've seen, it looks awesome.

The Terran and Protoss look so much better. Zerg still look the same to me.

Ghost was more of an experiment in expanding the SC story through linear story based games on console. They realized consoles are not their thing and I think they were trying to get a 3rd part company to pick it up and run with it but it didn't work out.

And Blizzard would never mess up the SC2 release, there would be massive amounts of Vietnamese kids suicide bombing Blizzard HQ...
