I could neve really get into either. I've never read the books but I've seen a couple of Harry Potter movies and one of the LOTR movies. I know I should watch all before I judge but LOTR is just too long for me. The only 3 hour+ films I'll watch are The Green Mile or The Godfather.

for the movie aspect i choose LotR. I interrested me more than HP. One other hand I started to read to LotR books and had to quit. It took me an hour and a half to read a chapter!(and im a pretty decent reader) HP book on the other hand, I read them all, and enjoyed them alot forthe most part.

books: harry potter
movies:LotR

I loved reading the Harry Potter books, and the movies are so-so.
I tried to read the LotR books, and tried to watch the movies, but I simply was not hooked.

For me Harry Potter is definitely the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Films and books!!
I, personally, find Lord of the Rings barely watchable!

LOTR story is better and the Harry Potter movies are a joke.

I'm sure Harry Potter books are cool but still...

A school or middle earth, which sounds more interesting.

You can sit through the Godfather but not LOTR? It's only one of the best movie sagas...

While I agree that LOTR is good, it's not something I'd watch several times like I did with the Godfather trilogy.
