Now the reason why I created this thread is because I wanted to know from the fans why they found the Lord of the Rings movies so facinating, enjoyable, entertaining, because I personally don't see it.
It has some insanely good acting in it (obviously not all of the main characters but some of them) medieval warfare is a good movie to begin with but then they add fantasy on top of it.

The movies have one of a kind characters that you will not see anywhere else.

I have never seen the original versions of the films just the extended edition.

I suggest that if you are going to watch them then definitely watch the special extended edition I have heard that a lot of plot holes are filled.

The movies leave you feeling like you are really in the movies because they are so good.

Length should not determine if you want to watch a movie or not it's a great movie and I actually wish that it were longer.

i have seen all 3, original and extended. for a long time they were my favorite movies. i will say that the first one does start off very slow,(being in the shire and all) but the second was great, and IMO, the third was amazing. i havent really ran into that many people who diddnt enjoy these movies.

I really didn't understand why this particular scene was left out of the theatrical version of the last movie.

I enjoyed all the movies (theatrical and extended) but I don't consider myself ever being a fan of the movies.

Bored out of my mind.

I enjoyed all 3 films, almost as much as Star Wars, almost!!

The extended versions do offer you a little more that the cinema version left you wondering. I read the books before seeing the films and I can say I honestly was not disapointed, as mentioned earlier the film leaves some details out (I would say it leaves out a lot of detail, not a few minor details).

I wouldn't have minded sitting in the theater for an extra 10 minutes to see this scene because the movie was like 3 hours long anyway.

I think that the original theatrical version must have left out more than i thought, but alas I have never seen the original theatrical version just extended.

I don't know it just seems like the original theatrical version is really just dumb compared to the extended.

I agree, I can't stand that series. I get so bored, and I love fantasy.

Himeko: Oh yeah. So my dad took the flat into this tire place
Himeko: And they tried to see why it went flat
Jeanie: awesome
Jeanie: that you can change it
Jeanie: ya big dyke

I've watched all of them when the DVD came out (not in the theatres). It's a different experience. The length didn't bother me much because I could pause it anytime.
