Lord of the Rings(movies)
Alright there's a lot of fans of Lord of the Rings out there, I for one am not. I personally think the movies are long and boring, but everyone is entitled to their own opinions.
Now the reason why I created this thread is because I wanted to know from the fans why they found the Lord of the Rings movies so facinating, enjoyable, entertaining, because I personally don't see it.

I swing big, with everything I've got. I hit big or I miss big. I like to live as big as I can." Babe Ruth

You're not an LOTR fan?
That's a late April Fool's joke, right? Seriously you're joking?

Are you kidding me? I woke up with a movie hangover after watching LOTR, I was still feeling the effects from it the next day. I'm talking good feelings, this was a movie that allowed the viewer to get lost in another world and discover things they never dreamed of.
It was visually stimulating and the acting was incredible. I could watch it over and over.

That was probably the most dramatic book-to-movie film I've ever seen.
Granted they cut out a few parts from the books I would've enjoyed but still one of the best.

LOTR was great for their setting, ancient yet mystical landscapes and like-able characters but it was pretty drawn out. Very respectable trilogy but not my favorite.

u know they didnt have to do much to make the landscapes like that, they mowed sum grass here and there and thats it, the hill side where most of it was done at " castle Hill " its like that, has been since well yeah and will always bee like that, and thats about an hours drive from where i live, very nice place. they have raves out there evey summer for 3 days at the same place it was filmed.

Haha those must be some hardcore raves..
It had such great production value, allot of CGI but worked perfectly with the real backdrops.

If you've ever seen CLERKS II, Randall's opinion of the LOTR movies is pretty much my opinion as well.

It's obviously just a difference in taste, MJ. LOTR is an epic fantasy tale that a lot of people will be turned off by because of it's lengthy dialogue and exaggerated places and events. Me? I love fantasy to begin with and medieval fantasy is even better.
