Scream 4 (officially announced)

Any Scream fans in here? The Weinsteins recently announced that Scream 4 is in fact in their current lineup. Also, Jamie Kennedy has spoken about reprising his role as "Randy Meeks" (killed off in part 2, but made a video cameo in the third).

Interested to see how this all plays outs...

I never liked the Scream series, I always thought it was fairly boring and not scary at all. This film is not scheduled to be release till 2010 I believe. So there's not much to talk about right now. But I doubt I'll see this movie, if ever it comes out.

"How to hit home runs: I swing as hard as I can, and I try to swing right through the ball...The harder you grip the bat, the more you can swing it through the ball, and the farther the ball will go. I swing big, with everything I've got. I hit big or I miss big. I like to live as big as I can." Babe Ruth

I liked the first 2 but when 3 came out it was a bit reaching and hokey and seemed a bit rushed.

I don't know about a 4th scream movie. Was the Scream trilogy that good that it deserves to have a 4th movie made? I guess we will have to wait to see the trailers and make a judgment from there.

But the Scream movies weren't meant to be funny, Sephy.

The third one was pretty bad and I don't think they can come up with a decent plot to make the movie even mildly interesting. Why can't they just start a new horror/slasher franchise?

Kiss my shiny metal ass!

Because they believe a sequel has a bigger guarantee to turn a profit. Also there are rumors going around that the Weinstein Co. has been short changed lately since SCREAM 4 is a product of a joint partnership between them and Showtime as part of a 7-year contract.

Robocop is another spawn of this contract. Whether it's a remake or a sequel I don't give a ****.
