Who in their right mind wouldn't want to see a STAR WARS movie directed by Steven Spielberg (well, he did direct the fight between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker) or Bryan Singer? Tim Burton? Guillermo Del Toro? Peter Jackson? Ringo Lam?

Lucas could have a new STAR WARS movie out every two or three years by farming out each new movie to a different director. That would ensure that there was always fresh ideas and energy in every movie and keep the series from getting stale. That's my idea, anyway.
Star Wars isn't star wars unless it's made by George Lucas and unlike James Bond there is a continuing plot, I think that he prefers to keep the plot under his own control, and that's fine, who wouldn't?

Now I'm not against it if they work together with Lucas but I don't think that i would like a Star Wars Movie that George Lucas didn't write himself.

I think that 3 sequels would be awesome, unfortunately it's been about 30 years so all of the actors are going to be way too old. Except for Harrison Ford I would definitely like to see him play han solo regardless of age, and they definitely need some other people like frank oz (yoda) and Anthony Daniels (C3P0) to play their characters.

I wonder if some of the jedi from the Jedi council would come back in spirit, it's be pretty cool to have Mace Windu, yoda, and Ki Adi Mundi in the sequels just in the spirit form of a jedi.

Maybe they could go to courascant and visit some familiar places from the prequels.

Star Wars Could Definitely use 3 more movies.

"Ohh! OOOhhh!!!-Oh and again! I made it. I know it. I can't see it but I know I made it. Oh my God I made it. Alright, don't give up. This is for everything. This is when I don't have to do it. This one right here is when I don't have to do it, which leaves nothing else but the one. No I don't think so. Not there. God I wish I could turn the volume-OH **** Aahhh son of a **** I talk too much. ****." - 00vega -

There's over a hundred STAR WARS novels that weren't written by George Lucas. They were authorized by him, sure but he didn't write them all himself. Other writers did. What's the difference between having other writers write books based on his ideas and letting other directors do movies based on his ideas?

And I'm really not all that in love with Lucas' writing. Even he admits that he doesn't like his own writing and he turned over directing of THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK and RETURN OF THE JEDI because he doesn't really like to direct. Actors in his films have long complained that Lucas rarely speaks to them. Let's not forget that the movie a lot of STAR WARS fans consider the best: THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK was written by Leigh Brackett (who was writing space opera before Lucas was born) and Lawrence Kasdan and directed by Irwin Kershner.

Don't get me wrong, I love STAR WARS as much as anybody else. One of the best memories of my youth is going to see STAR WARS the day it opened back in '77 and I saw it maybe a dozen times that summer. Since then it has grown into a modern mythology and it can continue to grown under other creative hands.
