Do you think George Lucas will make another live-action Star Wars movie?

I know initially he intended to make 9 movies to the saga. 3 prequels and then 3 sequels following episode 6.

He announced (a few years back after the first prequel came out I think) that he was only making the 3 prequel movies.

There was some speculation that he would just "make" the movies anyways but it seems in the past 5 or so years this prospect has fallen off the radar.

Does anyone think he will make new Star Wars movies? I know he is doing the TV series (which I imagine will be terribly bad) but I can't help buy think he will make additional movies.

I think he will take a few years off and get back to making new Star Wars films. However, I doubt that it will take place near the post episode 6 era. He will probably take it far into the future or far into the past. I am talking 1000 yrs in one direction or the other.

I think it is more likely he would do that as oppose to worrying about the original cast together for cameo appearances to the sequels...

I really can't see Lucas doing another 3 Star Wars movies. I think he would have done had episodes 1-3 been a rip roaring success which lets face it...they weren't.

If by some chance they do materialize then I totally agree with the idead they will be far off in the future after episode 6.

I think he really needs to. The tv show probably won't be that good. Hopefully he'll just do one season of it and then move on to make 3 more movies.

Star Wars fans can go a while without new stuff being made but after a while they are going to want more.

He can make hundreds of millions of dollars if he makes 3 more movies. I really don't see how he wouldn't make more. Star Wars is his life and he will get bored doing other stuff. He has no reason to think of another movie idea when he has the most popular movie series in history at his disposal.

Actually the movies were considered highly successful.

Not to mention the animated film that is coming out this summer.

I'd have to disagree. Maybe the movies could have been better but they made a TON of money anyway. I also thought that they were very well done and I'm extremely picky. There wasn't much that bugged me about them really at all.

I think 3 more Star Wars movies are inevitable.

Okay, maybe they were a success financially but story wise I thought they were just average. Except for episode 2, which was just truly awful!

Unlike the Original 3 movies...awesome, awesome and more awesome!

I could see him making three more. Since the Empire and Sith are both gone it should be based around Master Skywalker and rebuilding of the Jedi.

He's said earlier that he won't make any more movies, but he does plan on doing a 3D TV series which I know I'll watch.

I would LOVE to see a Movie based on the KoTOR Star Wars universe.

I personally think that George Lucas is a massive control freak who can't bear to have others play with his toys. There is really no reason why STAR WARS couldn't be a long running film series like James Bond or Zatoichi if Lucas would just let other directors/writers make a STAR WARS movie.

Who in their right mind wouldn't want to see a STAR WARS movie directed by Steven Spielberg (well, he did direct the fight between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker) or Bryan Singer? Tim Burton? Guillermo Del Toro? Peter Jackson? Ringo Lam?

Lucas could have a new STAR WARS movie out every two or three years by farming out each new movie to a different director. That would ensure that there was always fresh ideas and energy in every movie and keep the series from getting stale. That's my idea, anyway.
