I thought that was pretty much expected anyway since Piccolo's the villain and Goku's quite young. If they have a series lined up then this film will probably cover the DB stuff in a general and quick way and then move onto the vegeta storyline with the next film in a few years. This can go three ways - terrible, Hilarious or suprising (good).

I wouldn't mind it if this ended up surprisingly good. It would probably be better if it was computer animated though like the Final Fantasy movie... CG has come a long way by now and I have to say I'd prefer it over live action. I am very worried to say the least...

My favourite parts of the dragon ball / z / gt series were the parts that featured Future Trunks so it'll be a long time before they can completely annoy me by destroying my favourite character.

I agree with you Hybrix a CGI film might have been the way to go but maybe because it's still a form of animation it wouldn't be a big enough format change to warrant starting the story again.

Well it's not like the story is being continued in the show format anymore.

And now that I think about it they could still try it later if the live action version fails miserably. A big part of DBZ for me at least was the look of it. I liked the animation style. That will be completely gone in a live action version.

One thing I hope they avoid completely is the 4 hour powerups. They could make like 10 movies if they spent the last 30 minutes of each one powering up only to hit us with "To be continued...".

I'd love this DB film if there are more villains like Vegeta, Cell etc...
Piccolo is the lone villain, i think that's too boring..

Theres no way they could shove cell into this one, it would be way too much.
