I like these summers, alot of soccer is played.. Olympic and numerous Continental cups. With this recent Olympic soccer tournament coming to a close we have witnessed dissapointments.. (Italy loosing to a dismantled Belgium) glory (Nigeria making a run to the final) and some great soccer (Argentina trying to go for a repeat at their 2nd straight Olympic final)

Let me get straight to the point, Nigeria is the next great team of the future, so watch out World Cup 2010. for the past decade and a half Nigeria has been gaining mometum here and there.. think about 1994.. it took Roberto Baggio to step up, if not Nigeria would have defeated Italy, the eventual runners up. 2 years later they won the Olympic gold. 1998 saw a Nigerian team advance by defeating Spain.. another powerhouse. 2002 was a world cup in which they finished last in their group stage.. but in a group with England, Argentina and Sweden who could blame them? despite not being in the 2006 world cup.. maybe their 2008 Olympic experience will carry them far in front of their fans of 2010. Because i 2 years their 23 year olds will have grown to be 25 year olds.

I think that in the 90s they were in one of their best forms. But their team must have changed since then and they have to rebuild it. They didn't qualify for the 2006 WC so it made me wonder how much ready they are.

Anyway, I'd first like to see their current team win against a really solid football team. What I mean is, sure, they are in the finals after beating....Belgium. It isn't exactly impressive for me. Now if they beat Argentina and get that Olympic gold then I'd say, "watch out!".
