Well finally, I've found somebody who is as enthusiastic about this game as I am!

I totally agree with you, it's a picture perfect game, and is a credit to the HD consoling games.

Whether you are assassinating your target, Free-Running away from the scene or simply roaming the Kingdom, I can guarantee any doubtful person wishing to purchase this game that you will not be dissapointed!

I recently re-discovered it.
I'm loving it, but I must say I think I could have done without the sci-fi subplot, it would have been totally kickass as just a historical action game.

I don't think it was took away from the game, I just think it was unnecessary.

From what I've seen and heard, it's a great game visually. Absolutely spectacular. But the gameplay is the same thing over and over. Same missions that don't really get any harder. I've never played it, though.

I only played til around the 5th/6th 'boss'. The world is stunning. Especially on my new PC with max settings. It was absolutely beautiful to look at. The ability to scale almost anything was very well done. I absolutely did feel the cities were real, living, breathing things. I found the combat system fun too. But once you looked past the beauty, there wasn't a whole lot of game there. Not much at all. There's about 7 varieties of missions that you will do once. Then again and again and again. They're all short and I found they all get very boring, very fast. The events in the city become repetitive too fast also. After a while the only times I found any enjoyment were when you reached another boss (great set pieces!) but I couldn't stomach the gap in between any longer.

I'll remember it in future. I really can't stress how ornate some of the scenery is but it felt more asthetic simulation than 'game'. Imagination can only do so much. I can't wait for #2 but as I believe I read in a review somewhere - I was left feeling that the gameplay didn't even remotely do justice to the world that they'd created.

Well worth a rent though! :D

edit; That smiley is FAKE.

Well worth a rent though!

Go, purchase, enjoy.
I'll agree that it gets a little repetitive after a while. But believe me[and I'm playing through it now again], once you're done with it, it won't take but more than a month or so till you wanna

Also, the second time through I found things that I hadn't noticed before and so managed to try them in a different manner, which sometimes made for even better gameplay than the first time round.

Oh, the animation is by the guys who worked on 'Prince of Persia' so you can guess that part.

Yes, the ending IS somewhat disappointing, but in all honesty, most, not all, but most of the games nowadays aren't really too sharp on that end [excuse the pun].
