48 Hour Film Festival

DATE: AUGUST 15TH - AUGUST 17TH.
OBJECTIVE: WRITE, SHOOT, EDIT AND PRESENT A FILM NO LONGER THAN 7 MINUTES WITHIN 48 HOURS UNDER THE CONTESTS RESTRICTIONS.

I did this last year and it was a blast. We get the prompts for what we have to include in our film.

Each team is given a list of 4 or 5 different prompts and the genre of the film they have to make. The prompts vary every year but it can be from anything to a character's name and occupation, a single line of dialogue, a prop, and so on. Last year our genre was "Superhero".

In about 3 hours we receive the prompts for this year's competition and we begin writing the script.

Wish us luck.

How did it go? Tell us about it.

In the end we're all just chalk lines on the concrete, drawn only to be washed away . .
I'd rather you hate me for everything I am
Than have you love me for something that I'm not

Well, it was a blast... but more or less disasterous.

We wrote and shot most of a film from Fri-Sat. Then after we took a look at the footage we realized that our story sucks and we should reshoot. So we did and the outcome product was still mediocre to bad.

If we had made the second story our priority to begin with we would have done much better and probably wouldn't have been late and we wouldn't have been disqualified
