Juventus beat Zenit 1-0. Del Piero scored from a free kick late in the game to give them a 1-0 lead and they held it for the rest of the game. Camaronesi also had a good chance that just missed the post earlier in the game.

Real Madrid looks dangerous, they played very agresive vs BATE and had 10 shots on a 2-0 victory.

On another note Man U. could not solve Villareal in a 0-0 draw, I'm so happy Ji Soon Park fell on his **** LMAO.

Man United were poor up-front. Disappointing really.

They lacked any cutting edge in the final third.

Whats wrong with Man U? they should get mometum running for them soon before it's to late haha. I'm not following the EPL much, so I wouldn't know how good they are there, last I heard from them is when they lost the Super Cup 1-2 to Zenit.

All in all, I belive they'll be fine, Defending champions have the experience that will take them to the 2nd round.. and it's not like they have nothing on paper either. Could have been worse; loss.

How good was Del Piero's goal? What a legend.

I wish them the best this year, does anyone think they hav what it takes to have a strong run into the finals.

My money's still on an English team winning the CL at the moment (Chelsea?) but I expect a much better fight this time around. I don't yet believe in an all English final again. It's great to see Juve back but I'd be shocked if they made it all the way. They've been out of top european competition for a while and while it was a good result, they didn't impress me as much as some others have [yet]. As they say though, football's a funny old game and it'd be quite a romantic story if they did go far. The old specialist Del Piero certainly raised an eye brow. He hit that as sweet as a nut.

Man Utd are having a terrible start but this was the case last season too, when we won the PL and CL. Although I'm not so confident of a repeat! Ronaldo back is a huge boost. Once Berba's fit and in the team again and Utd find some form, I still think they'll be a force.

What's your favourite goal from the first round of matches?

I'd have to pick Gerrard's vs Marseille for pure individual skill and control. There's been a couple of other crackers already though.

Granted it was a good strike but it was poor goalkeeping which I will remember. It wasn't even in the top corner.

UEFA Cup action, AC Milan won their first game of their season beating Zurich 3-1. They should win, I'm guessing they're favorites.. but you never know, any upset can happen.

AC Milan should have made it to Champs League, so much for having a world class team
