let's be honest, Buffon wasn't playing so he could have made a difference, I mean both goals were scored in a matter of 5 minutes. World Champion goalies wouldn't let that happen against a team like BATE.

Zenit gave Real a hard time, and outplayed them, though ended up loosing the game 2-1, Zenit player scored in his own net 3 mins into the match, so Real consider yourself lucky.

Did you actually see the goals? I didn't, but sometimes there's nothing a keeper can do to make a save and it doesn't matter who's in goal.

I doubt the keeper would have made any difference. It was 2-2 for a reason, BATE were just as good.

You're right, Buffon is just the best keeper in the world, the keeper doesn't make any difference, why not just take him out a put an extra attacker. All he does is stop sots on target. Better keepers can stop better shots. Maybe BATE had good chances, and Chimenti is not good enough to stop it. I think Buffon has proven that he is capable of stopping very good shots.
