Theo was constantly there in the first half, he was fouled five times in around six minutes because the defender couldn't do anything with him, he's a dangerous attacker and deserves some praise for the amazing effort he put in.

Pot 1 seems to have a lot of good teams compared to the others.

Yeah, those are just the pots they draw the groups from. All the teams in Pot 1 will go into different groups.

Looks very competitive, it's seem wide open and at least seven of the ten teams have an excellent chance of qualification. Whereas in other continents it's a bit more clear cut.

Shame that Senegal couldn't make it. Their fans really let their footbal federation know what they thought about their failure.

2-1 win over montenegro. I thought they'd choke out of this one without Buffon. Thanks to Aquilani. That's something about Italy. they don't have 1 superstar, although they have an equaly distributed talent pool.

3-1 win over Belarus.

Rooney again was the star of the show bagging two more goals.

A decent result which pushes us nearer qualification!

Germany beat Wales 1-0

To be fair thats not a bad result, Euro2008 finalist at home against...well...urrh...Wales!

We are still in with a chance(optimism), We have played our 2 toughest games; Russia away and Germany away and still hold a promising position to contend from.
