He played for Villarreal and I think now he's on loan to a second tier Spanish club. From what I saw of him last night, his touch and footwork could be improved, but he has good size and speed and is a great finisher.

It was in Honduras I think, but still, to lose 3-1 to Honduras is pretty bad.

@ Echoes: Yeah, we have to wait another three months to qualify because Bahrain beat Qatar, we needed a draw to go through.

The US got destroyed 3-1 by Costa Rica last night and are now second in the group.
------
Australia, South Korea, Japan, and Netherlands secured qualification today. There's 90 countries left fighting for the last 27 spots.

I don't think we ever made it through our group this easily before. Sure the opponents weren't too strong, but we didn't mess up at all. 6 wins, 0 draws and 0 losses. Neado!

Oh please oh please...I hope we get one of those spots. I guess I have to wait until September.

Whenever I discuss WC with some of my friends, we reach the same conclusion that Spain has the biggest chance to clinch it. What do you guys think?

Six wins out of six for England as they thrash Kahzakstan 4-0 and they are virtually home and hosed as far as world cup qualification goes.

A win on Wednesday against Andorra will secure our place at this summer world cup, which is a nice relief after the disaster of failing to qualify for the European Championships last year.

I am happy with Australia's performance, this year we didn't qualify with a struggle, it was easy and that's the best part. We beat Bahrain two nil this morning, hoping to do better in the World Cup than we did in Germany, we've got a young and strong side coming in.

Damn, I just realised I won't be here for our next match on August 12.

Echoes, how is the US coverage for football WC qualifying matches?

It pretty much sucks. US has a huge qualifier at Mexico today and it's only on one of the Spanish channels here. I can't even watch it with English commentary. The only other game on TV here today is Germany vs Azerbaijan. We get that one with English commentary. What the ****?
------
Looks like France beat Faroe Islands 1-0. I'm surprised they only scored once. Norway are up 3-0 over Scotland. That'll really hurt Scotland's chances of qualifying.
