My brother had the original big gray one when we were kids, that we shared.
I didn't get my own until the gameboy colour came out though. I'm pretty sure I got it the Christmas of the year it came out. It was teal haha
I loved it with a passion.
I pretty well only played Pokemon on it though

I had the big ol' brick of a gameboy also. Mine was actually a hand me down from my cousin who had beaten it up pretty good before I even got a hold of it. My first game was Tetris... I remember playing the heck out of it and probably would still play it to this day if I had a working copy on the big grey gameboy.

i got the advanced (sp)soon after my 8th [or so] b-day. i play pokemon every now and then.

Not to be an ****.but there's a significant difference between a Gameboy and a Gameboy Advance. This thread is not about the latter.

I rembember the day.it was raining i was wearing... yeah you don't care about it but had right on the launch with 3 games(not sure what)

I had that big fat one, I had 2 actually,and I still own them today, the white one and the clear one, the first game I really played though was pokemon blue, i was 11 years old or something, fun times.

Compared to most people here, mine wasn't very long ago, but it was when I was about 8. Maybe 7. So a little under 10 years ago. It was yellow and I loved it. I kept it in my pocket constantly. I was the little girl with cargo pants.
